The Techie Ballet and Other Daring Deeds is an original derived piece created by graduate directing student Cristina A. Skinner and developed by the technicians of the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film. The Techie Ballet gives the audience creative insight on the behind the scenes world of theatre.
Theatre technicians have been called many things, set gnomes, ninjas, zombies, “The Get- It- Done Gang.” Join us on February 12th and find out what being a theatre technician is really about in a creatively devised piece.
The Techie Ballet follows the production process from beginning to end through the eyes of theatre’s most under-appreciated workers. Don’t know what to expect? Wondering how this could possibly be interesting? Well throw in a sword fight or two, lighting acrobatics, a few comedy sketches, and some bread and you have an intensely entertaining hour of theatre.
The Techie Ballet and Other Daring Deeds is a one night only performance on Friday, February 12th at 11:00 PM in the Lab Theatre on the 3rd floor of the Temple Building, 12th and R St. in Lincoln, Nebraska. Tickets are $5 at the door on the night of the performance and are subject to availability.
